In general, Joomla generates a default admin url like http://www.yoursite.com/administrator and WordPress generates like http://www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php. As everyone knows these links, anyone without authority can be very easy to access to your admin area and makes it easily to be hacked.

In order to secure the admin panel, we can change the default URL and create a custom URL for logging in like;

WordPress: http://www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php/?guesswhat

Joomla: http://www.yoursite.com/administrator/?guesswhat

  • From admin panel, navigate to jDefender > Preferences
  • Enter your custom "Admin Secret URL" under Warning section
  • Click [Save] to save your changes
